HBK Valuation Group, a dedicated group of business valuation, litigation and forensics professionals within HBK CPAs & Consultants, welcomes Atticus Frank, CFA, ABV, to its Florida team. Atticus will work from HBK’s Sarasota office as Regional Director of the firm’s Valuation Group, which also includes offices in Fort Myers, Naples, Stuart, and Boca Raton.
Atticus comes to HBK Valuation Group from Mercer Capital where he was Vice President and involved in hundreds of valuation engagements since 2014. His valuation focus includes gift and estate tax, transaction advisory, and dispute and litigation support.
As a member of Mercer’s Family Business Advisory Services Group, he focused on financial education, valuation, and other strategic financial consulting to multi-generation family businesses. He was also responsible for developing new business relationships and referral sources in the Florida market.
“We are excited that Atticus will be leading our Valuation, Litigation, and Forensics practice in the Florida market,” noted HBK Principal Robert J. Zahner, CPA/ABV, ASA, CVA. “With his industry experience and expertise, he immediately bolsters our Valuation team while providing in-market support to our clients and the legal and financial community. Upon meeting Atticus, it was immediately evident that he was not only well-suited for the role from a skills and expertise perspective, but also from a personality and client service perspective, a mix that we value highly in our firm and culture. Of note, Atticus is highly engaged in the community, and we are pleased to partner with him as he continues to develop those relationships.”
Atticus is frequently called upon to speak on business valuation topics for webinars and industry events. Recent appearances include an address to the Florida Institute of CPAs (FICPA) Mega 2023 Conference in Orlando, webinars sponsored by the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) and the Financial Consulting Group, and an address to the Venice Estate Planning Council. He was a regular contributor to Mercer Capital’s newsletter, Value Matters, and the firm’s blog, Family Business Director.
Atticus began his professional career upon graduating from Sewanee: The University of the South, where he earned his B.A. in Economics and Political Science, was awarded the E.G. Richmond Prize in Social Sciences, and played varsity football.
